Although primarily a plant-oriented research group, the APE Lab pursues a diverse mix of empirical, applied, and multi-taxa research. The unifying research theme is conservation of tropical diversity in natural and human‐managed systems of the Asia-Pacific region. Students are encouraged to pursue a study system and ecological or conservation problem about which they are passionate. We have a strong interest in publishing research that will better inform conservation policy. Main areas of interest of the lab are listed below.
